Lots and lots of pictures! And these aren't even all of them! Here is a link to the whole gallery, but these are a few of my favorites. These were from our bridal/ formal session with Mikki Platt. We had so much fun! Turns out we love being in front of the camera… once we got used to it. Mikki has a studio in Lehi so we went there for the first little bit. I thought it would be really nice to have the photos in a studio because I love when you see bridal photos indoors with just pretty white walls. And since I knew we would be married indoors, I thought it would be nice to have some pictures of the two of us indoors.
As I said in my last post, my mom was with us for these pictures which was great. She could fix my hair and re-apply lip gloss and make sure there weren’t too many kissy pictures! Or she would say “Rebecca, a REAL smile! Do your real smile.” Thanks for being the stylist, mom. It was also nice to have her there because I had 2 bouquets. I thought it would be really fun to surprise Greg and have tulips in my bouquet. Greg served his LDS mission in Holland, where they are famous for their tulips. So I found some really fun tulips that morning at Trader Joe’s and knew they would be perfect. But I also thought it would be nice to have a more subtle bouquet. In some wedding pictures, the flowers are so beautiful that they are almost distracting from the bride and groom. So I thought it would be nice to have some shots that were a little more earthy-looking. So I got a few things at Trader Joe’s and then when I got home, I walked around my yard for a half hour or so and slowly walked around browsing all my favorite bushes from our yard. I always wanted to have my wedding reception in the back yard and I would think about it every time I would do yard work. “Someday all this work is going to pay off because I’ll have a beautiful wedding in the most beautiful backyard.” But alas, a November wedding meant I could only have little pieces from my backyard in the wedding. So it was really fun and special for me to gather our plants for one of the bouquets.
I think the first few pictures are really fun because we did the “first look.” Greg already knew a lot about the dress because there was so much coordination with his mom, but he was still so surprised and he really loved it!
After we spent some time at the studio, we went to American Fork Amphitheater which is right across the street from the temple where we got married. I’m so glad we were able to have some indoor and outdoor photos. And Mikki made us look and feel great. Good times all around!
